We're working hard on distributing our cd into the hands of journalists, radio stations, and industry cognoscenti. We are planning a video that will be another tool in our arsenal of getting our message out to the world. The band continues to hone it's living and breathing sounds. Moon-running is a full time job that (so far) doesn't pay very well. We're of course not in it for the money ultimately, but that argument isn't exactly helping us keep our families fed. So we try the best we can.

In other news the album can be purchased in old fashioned cd form at The Electric Fetus, Cheapo, or directly from Moonrunners.net or our myspace page. The mp3 version is available in iTunes, amazon, and emusic.

did I have a fever when I wrote this? completely forgot I had written these notes but I found them when I dug through a notebook looking for those financial notes for the ant sessions:

Some notes towards the band bio:

Moonrunners came together in the summer of 2004 built on the foundation of prior musical collaborations between the various members of the group going back to the early-mid-90's... those bands that came and went like Doc5, Yer Uncle, Shynolas... like a proving ground of determination, musicianship, expression, songwriting, performance... plus everything else that came between: the travel, the love, the heartaches, the kids, the break-ups, the booze, the lesson: everything is important...

Songs built on the notion that we all feel emotions that we don't have names for, and that contradict each other, and take different guises, that we are all somewhere between letting go and holding on, trying and giving up, fearing and loving... Our songs are each a kind of snapshot of a moment, taken outside time and held up for examination, reflecting that in the course of our lives we encounter situations that no one prepared us for, and we handle them any way we can, between moments of grace and moments of destruction. We're all heaven bound, so close to the ground, traveling backwaters of feeling, detours of faith, sojourns of desire to dreams over some unseen horizon...

Music is the medicine, because sometimes you feel something you don't want to feel but you've got to feel it anyways. Because feeling is how we heal, and move on, and become human... it's our medicine to feel even if the taste is bitter, but it helps to relate and know that none of us are alone, so listen to our music and let it do what our music does... Moonrunners puts the sugar coating on the bitter pill...

Welcome to the blog. We are moonrunners here. We see letters in the moonlight we are nostalgic about the water and our watery depths; the heathen vapor rising as the ancient waters seethe and bubble far below the surface of our newfound emptyness.

The moonrunners began as an attempt to chronicle the experience of living on the fringe.

Many late night sharing sessions and other moon-related activities coalesced into a music hell bent on uplifting the downtrodden and down-laden of all tribes and tributaries, feeding the spirit, and unifying the very creation with a uniquely soulful midnight howl, an anthemic reverence, and a wide resonance.
